Research Associate - Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC)

The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at NYU Abu Dhabi is inviting qualified applicants with a doctorate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related fields to apply. The ideal candidate should have a strong publication record and experience in machine learning model development and statistical learning.

The selected candidate will engage in innovative AI methodologies involving renewable energy integration, smart transmission and distribution networks, AI-driven smart grid technologies, and demand response systems. Responsibilities include conducting research, developing standalone and prototype AI solutions, and publishing work in prestigious conferences and journals.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong publication record in AI-driven energy solutions
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (especially MATLAB)
• Experience in statistical learning and embedded systems
• Familiarity with cost-effective COTS-based environmental monitoring solutions is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in research-focused teams and contribute to innovative AI-driven solutions
