The Cyber Security & Privacy lab (CSP-laboratory) of Dr. Christina Pöpper is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral or research associate to work on cyber security and privacy research concerning existing and emerging networks and communication systems, with a possible starting date in January 2025 (or later). The group’s research focuses on system, network, information, and computer security. Candidates should be skilled and comfortable with experimental work in cyber security. Although a postdoctoral/research associate candidate will be preferred, this position may also be filled by a research assistant in justified cases. The CSP-laboratory conducts cutting-edge research in communication, network, cyber, and system security and privacy, with a focus on security and privacy in mobile telephony networks (5G, 6G, ORAN), satellite-based and airborne communication, AI, LLM, and ML security, privacy, and trustworthiness, and anonymous or privacy-preserving communication.

Skills Required:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Passion for security and privacy topics in various application contexts
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- PhD or MSc in Computer Science or a closely related field (BSc holders will be considered in justified cases)
- Experimental experience with software radios, 5G user equipment, VPNs, Tor, or related technologies
- Up-to-date software development and machine learning skills, including work with ML libraries and multimodal AI models
- Exposure to security and privacy research work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of research with publications in top-tier conferences
