Position

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a motivated Research Engineer to work under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Chafii on Channel Modeling for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, setup, and execution of ISAC channel measurement campaigns across various environments, hardware platforms, and frequency bands. Additionally, they will develop and validate ISAC channel modeling methodologies tailored to the lab’s testbed, integrate Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and RF front-ends into ISAC demonstrators, and implement advanced signal processing algorithms for joint communication and sensing.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong hands-on experience with SDRs (USRP, RFSoC, or equivalent) and familiarity with programming in MATLAB, Python, and optionally C++ for high-performance applications is required. A solid understanding of channel estimation, multipath modeling, RF systems, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment are essential.
