The company is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will manage the construction supervision of the Roadside Dynamic Information System (Dynamic Message Signs) Package 2B. This project’s scope includes the detailed design of DMS’s and associated structures, procurement, execution, completion, integration, and testing of DMS’s along with their integration into the Central ITS Management System.
The Resident Engineer will oversee daily construction operations, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. This includes managing resources, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring overall project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction activities and progress to ensure successful execution.
- Manage project teams including Specialists, Engineers, Inspectors, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Ensure construction activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and construction teams for smooth execution.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and documentation.
- Manage Health & Safety and Environmental Protection standards during construction.
- Address project-related issues, mitigate risks, and provide proactive solutions.
- Communicate effectively among the project team and external stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience, with at least 7 years in a managerial or technical lead role on large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Proven experience in managing Design & Build projects and handling technical and financial proposals.
- Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in relevant project management and construction software tools.
Desired Skills:
- Strong understanding of project risk management and the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Knowledge of local regulations (Dubai/UAE) and the permitting process.
- Experience with fast-track projects and complex timelines.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and provide timely innovative solutions.
