Key Responsibilities:
- Direct overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
- Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.
- Ensure availability of subcontractors and major construction equipment at the appropriate time for maximum efficiency.
- Establish assignments for Construction Superintendents for various construction operations, monitor progress, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions, and salary actions.
- Manage the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency and meet budget goals.
- Monitor critical milestones and take preventative actions to ensure project phases are completed on time.
- Ensure sound construction practices and attain required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimal cost.
- Prepare periodic reports summarizing construction progress for management and clients.
- Serve as the primary contact with client representatives, subcontractors, and government officials for construction-related activities, maintaining strong client and community relations.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in marine construction is required.
- Experience in marine dredging, reclamation works, and construction of marine edge protections.
- UAE project experience is preferred.
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable.
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
- Knowledge of contractual relationships.
Desired Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes and industry practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD and other PC software typically associated with engineering and construction.
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity.
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required.
