Position

Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Resident Engineer - Marine Works to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this full-time on-site role, you will plan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all engineering work related to the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.
  • Ensure availability of subcontractors and major construction equipment at the appropriate time for maximum efficiency.
  • Establish assignments for Construction Superintendents for various construction operations, monitor progress, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions, and salary actions.
  • Manage the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency and meet budget goals.
  • Monitor critical milestones and take preventative actions to ensure project phases are completed on time.
  • Ensure sound construction practices and attain required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimal cost.
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing construction progress for management and clients.
  • Serve as the primary contact with client representatives, subcontractors, and government officials for construction-related activities, maintaining strong client and community relations.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in marine construction is required.
  • Experience in marine dredging, reclamation works, and construction of marine edge protections.
  • UAE project experience is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
  • Knowledge of contractual relationships.

Desired Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes and industry practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD and other PC software typically associated with engineering and construction.
  • Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required.
