About the Role
We are hiring a Road Engineer for our infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The engineer will design roads, junctions, accesses, and highway works for airport and infrastructure projects. The role encompasses all design stages—from feasibility and concept to detailed design—as well as the assessment of new works on existing roads and highways, coordination with other disciplines, and follow-up on authority approvals.

Responsibilities
Design
- Carry out the horizontal and vertical geometric design of roads, junctions, interchanges, and accesses.
- Design parking areas, service roads, and pedestrian facilities.
- Prepare pavement design and pavement layouts.
- Prepare signage, road marking, and road safety layouts.
- Prepare plans, longitudinal profiles, cross sections, grading, and standard details.
- Prepare quantities and bills of quantities (BOQ) and support cost estimates.
- Prepare design basis reports, calculation reports, and technical specifications.
Existing Roads and Interfaces
- Review existing road information, topographic surveys, and as-built drawings.
- Assess the impact of new works and crossings on existing roads and highways.
- Prepare traffic diversion and temporary traffic management options.
- Coordinate the road design with drainage, wet and dry utilities, and structures.
Coordination and Approvals
- Prepare authority submissions and NOC applications and follow them up until approval.
- Coordinate with the client, Abu Dhabi road and transport authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Attend technical and coordination meetings and follow up on the actions.
- Respond to review comments and update the design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in road and highway design in the UAE.
- Good knowledge of Abu Dhabi road design standards, manuals, and approval procedures.
- Hands-on experience with Civil 3D (or OpenRoads) and AutoCAD.
- Able to prepare designs, reports, and quantities with limited supervision.
- Good written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience on airport or large infrastructure projects.
- Experience in traffic diversion and temporary traffic management design.
- UAE driving licence.
- Registration with the UAE Society of Engineers.
