RTO Consultant

The individual will be part of the Global Optimization group and will participate at senior level in various activities. This role involves the implementation and maintenance of Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications in Refinery and Petrochemical units, based on AVEVA Process Optimization (APO) software. The consultant will act as the technical interface with customers to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and committed to. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues during project execution, monitoring assigned work scope against the project plan, and contributing to process discussions and database changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation of RTO applications in Refinery and Petrochemical units using AVEVA Process Optimization software.
• Maintenance of the installed base of RTO applications.
• Establishing professional relationships with customers to ensure project requirements are clearly defined.
• Ensuring engineered solutions meet functionality, standards, and quality requirements while resolving technical issues.
• Monitoring and controlling work scope against the project plan, ensuring effective change control, and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Reviewing process flow diagrams and P&IDs, completing database changes, and implementing complex calculations for data analysis.
• Assisting and participating in other AVEVA Project Areas as needed.

Essential Qualifications

• Chemical Process and/or Control Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Optimization of Refinery and/or Petrochemical operations.
• Expert user of rigorous refinery process simulation packages or advanced control applied to Refinery and Petrochemical.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with PI Asset Framework and PI Vision.
• Programming skills in Tcl, Python, Excel VBA, SQL are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Power BI.

Location: Al Khobar (Hybrid 3 days in office with customer deployment)
