As a Platform Backend Engineer (Rust) at the company, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the back-office and trading data platform systems at the core of our organization. This position requires a hands-on engineer experienced in building scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems, with a product-centric mindset to address technical challenges directly affecting trading and risk capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rust Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Rust to ensure low latency and high availability for critical trading data platforms.
  • Systems Engineering: Apply strong fundamentals in concurrency, memory management, networking, serialization, and observability.
  • System Integration: Create seamless integrations between live trading operations and back-office systems, automating workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Cloud-Native Deployment: Deploy and manage services in a cloud-native environment, utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • DevOps & Observability: Maintain GitOps-driven workflows, implement robust CI/CD pipelines, and ensure comprehensive system observability for rapid incident response.
  • Database Optimization: Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies in a high-volume financial environment.
  • Security & Compliance: Engineer solutions with a focus on security and compliance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product Managers, Risk teams, and other engineers to translate business requirements into reliable technical specifications.
  • Technical Excellence: Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions while mentoring fellow engineers.

Background and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale, high-performance trading data platforms.
  • Expertise in Rust (or C++), Python, and TypeScript for financial services system development.
  • Understanding of data engineering principles and experience with financial data workflows.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native architectures and tools, particularly AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring tools.
