As a Platform Backend Engineer (Rust), you will lead the development and maintenance of the backoffice and trading data platform systems pivotal to the company’s operations. The ideal candidate is experienced in constructing scalable, resilient, high-performance systems and is eager to take ownership of technically complex infrastructures. You will thrive in fast-paced environments, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and utilize a product-centric approach to solve technical challenges that impact trading and risk capabilities directly.

Job Description

  • Rust Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Rust, ensuring low latency and high availability for critical trading data platforms.
  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Implement efficient, scalable, and fault-tolerant data pipelines for real-time pricing and position data delivery to trading and risk management systems.
  • System Integration: Create seamless integrations between live trading operations (exchanges/DeFi) and backoffice systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Cloud-Native Deployment: Manage services in a cloud-native environment using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • DevOps & Observability: Maintain GitOps-driven workflows, ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, and implement deep system observability.
  • Database Optimization: Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies (SQL/NoSQL) in a high-volume financial setting.
  • Security & Compliance: Engineer solutions with a focus on security, compliance, and the secure handling of sensitive financial data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product Managers, Risk teams, and other engineers to translate complex requirements into technical specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on trends in the Rust ecosystem, cloud infrastructure, and blockchain technologies.

Background and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining data-intensive, large-scale, high-performance trading data platforms.
  • Strong expertise in Rust (or C++), Python, and TypeScript for system development within the financial services sector.
  • Deep understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, ETL pipelines, and stream processing.
  • Experience with financial services data workflows, including trading and middle/back office operations.
  • Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, particularly AWS, and proficiency in GitOps tools for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong background in DevSecFinOps for compliance, security, and cost efficiency in the development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies.
