Your Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Ensure tag-out and lock-out procedures are followed when working on electrically powered equipment.
- Ensure the use of all required Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) while on duty.
- Isolate defects in wiring, connections, audio-visual equipment, and other AV systems using testing instruments.
- Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain all AV equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Respond swiftly to any AV issues.
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of all audio-visual systems in all areas.
- Keep and maintain all audio-visual distribution panels and control systems.
- Inspect and upkeep audio-visual equipment and associated systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficient functioning.
- Lubricate, clean, and replace components as needed.
- Report any unusual findings or AV system safety hazards immediately to the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for all AV installations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
- Attend Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings to understand AV requirements for upcoming events.
- Prepare and test all AV setups and technical requirements in advance.
- Set up, operate, and maintain audio, video, and lighting equipment to ensure optimal performance during events.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on AV systems to prevent technical disruptions.
- Provide on-site technical support during events to resolve AV-related issues promptly.
- Ensure all equipment operates smoothly to prevent interruptions during functions.
- Monitor, perform checks, and follow up on PPMs and corrective work orders, reporting any defects immediately.
- Collaborate with event planners, banquet teams, and other departments to coordinate AV setups.
- Maintain a minimum stock of AV setup operating supplies.
- Guide and assist third-party contractors for event setups, ensuring all safety precautions are followed.
- Provide training to hotel associates on basic AV operations and troubleshooting techniques.
- Communicate with duty engineers/supervisors regarding priority jobs and progress.
- Follow all departmental procedures and policies, especially regarding entering guest rooms for repairs.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and practice fire safety protocols.
- Report all incidents and work-related injuries to the concerned department.
- Attend all safety training and other required training sessions.
- Monitor Knowcross application and respond promptly to escalated requests for assistance or emergency work orders.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in audio-visual systems support.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in a luxury hospitality environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
