Safety & Security Officer

About the Role
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the college environment, including students, employees, and visitors. This role involves maintaining a secure and healthy environment while adhering to data privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Protect the college premises from any danger.
• Provide a uniformed presence for the safety of students, employees, and visitors.
• Log all visitors at the gate.
• Expedite traffic and manage traffic flow on campus.
• Issue citations for parking violations.
• Provide security escort services upon request.
• Perform crowd control duties as necessary.
• Enforce policies regarding access to the college building after working hours; special approval is required from management for entry outside regular hours.
• Check doors and windows for security; lock doors and turn off lights.
• Prepare incident reports, log calls received, and complete other required record-keeping.

Requirements

• Strong observational and communication skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of security protocols and practices.
• Fitness and physical ability to perform security duties as required.
