About the Role
In this position, you will directly manage, mentor, and task-assign the SAP Basis technical team, ensuring effective operations and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). You will lead the administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of various SAP landscapes, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, ALM, and Cloud Connector. This role requires a strong technical leadership capability to establish best practices, standards, and operational guidelines within the SAP Basis operations framework.

Responsibilities

Directly manage and mentor the SAP Basis technical team, assigning tasks as necessary.
Lead the administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, ALM, Cloud Connector, etc.).
Provide technical leadership for SAP Basis operations, establishing best practices and operational guidelines.
Design, plan, and execute SAP system upgrades, system refreshes, kernel updates, database migrations, and patch implementations (Support Packages/Stack).
Manage backup/recovery strategies, high availability (HA) setups, and Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.
Oversee SAP system security, user authorization concepts, transport management, and audit compliance protocols.
Manage the day-to-day work for internal Basis engineers to ensure strict adherence to SLAs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
10+ years of SAP Basis experience with proven experience as SAP Basis Lead / Technical Lead.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, SAP HANA).
Expertise in SAP Basis administration, upgrades, migrations, system refreshes, kernel updates, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of SAP Security, user authorization, roles, and audit compliance.
Experience managing SAP Basis teams and ensuring SLA compliance.
Experience with HA/DR, backup & recovery strategies.
Good knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
