Position

The Directed Energy Research Center is seeking a highly motivated SAR Data Processing Engineer to join TII and contribute to the development and implementation of a spaceborne SAR payload. The SAR Data Processing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing algorithms and pipelines to process the SAR raw data and form the level-1 image. The assigned candidate will support the calibration and validation activities carried out from the sensor data and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support remote sensing applications.

Job Description

  • Assist in developing SAR signal processing algorithms.
  • Process raw SAR data into focused image products.
  • Apply basic image enhancement and filtering techniques.
  • Validate SAR image quality using standard metrics.
  • Support radiometric and geometric calibration workflows.
  • Create Python or MATLAB scripts for data processing automation.
  • Prepare and analyze datasets from lab and field tests.
  • Document SAR processing workflows and testing outcomes.
  • Participate in technical meetings, trainings, and reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Update the algorithms according to the state-of-the-art on SAR processing trends and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in communication systems and/or digital signal processing.
  • Strong interest in radar signal processing, satellite imaging, or geospatial technologies.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Fourier Transform, convolution, and digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Passionate about Remote Sensing Space Programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a high-tech, research-driven environment.
