Position

The Technology Innovation Institute is seeking a highly motivated SAR Data Processing Engineer to join the Directed Energy Research Center. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing algorithms and pipelines to process SAR raw data and produce level-1 images. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development of SAR signal processing algorithms.
  • Processing raw SAR data into focused image products.
  • Applying basic image enhancement and filtering techniques.
  • Validating SAR image quality using standard metrics.
  • Supporting radiometric and geometric calibration workflows.
  • Creating Python or MATLAB scripts for data processing automation.
  • Preparing and analyzing datasets from lab and field tests.
  • Documenting SAR processing workflows and testing outcomes.
  • Participating in technical meetings, trainings, and reviews.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Updating algorithms in line with state-of-the-art SAR processing trends and tools.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on communication systems and/or digital signal processing.
  • Strong interest in radar signal processing, satellite imaging, or geospatial technologies.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Fourier Transform, convolution, and digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Passion for Remote Sensing Space Programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a high-tech, research-driven environment.
