Position

Sales Specialists & Consultants are product, services, software, or solution specialists responsible for leading pursuit in their assigned focus areas. This role collaborates with and supports Account Managers and provides specialist expertise within the sales team. They drive proactive campaigns to build the pipeline and use specialized knowledge and skills to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out new opportunities and expand existing opportunities to build and manage the pipeline in specialty area.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of competitors in accounts to strategically position the company’s products and services.
  • Develop pursuit plans and manage the pipeline to ensure alignment with account managers.
  • Establish a professional working relationship with clients by developing an understanding of their unique business needs.
  • Contribute to technical proposal development, negotiations, and deal closings.
  • Work closely with and support account teams, providing technical expertise and support, participating in client engagements with C-level executives for complex solutions.
  • Interface with both internal and external experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.

Requirements:

  • University or Bachelor’s degree preferred, with directly related previous work experience.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving progressively higher quotas.
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge required.
  • Typically, 5-8 years of advanced sales experience required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep technical knowledge of product offerings as well as competitors’ offerings.
  • Understanding of the industry and market segment for key accounts, integrating this knowledge into consultative selling.
  • Ability to negotiate and drive deals to ensure successful closes and high win rates.
  • Leadership and initiative in successfully driving specialty sales in accounts.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate well-targeted solutions from proposal to contract sign-off.
  • Good prioritization and delegation skills to focus on key client opportunities.

Work Conditions: This role has been designed as ‘Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
