Rackspace Has Been Commissioned By The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia To Assure The Build Of a Sovereign Multi Tenant Private Cloud That We Have Designed. Under Contract Rackspace Will Fulfil 3 Strategic Functions Design and Build Assurance – Overseeing the plans, schedule and build of 20 vendors, individually deploying to install and configure their infrastructure, according to the schedule and standards laid down by Rackspace CMP Development – Designing, Building and releasing MVPs into service which allow firstly administration functions to be created and utilised, leveraging automation, and subsequently building in further automation and service controls Strategic Advisory – Against a designed TOM laid down by Rackspace, supporting the mobilisation of resources, executing a training strategy, and providing expertise to build out the cloud management office Rackspace has a deep seated technical background, and is one of the few organisations that allows engineers to progress to the most senior organisational posts in the corporation. Role Overview

We are looking for a Security Architect with expertise in Private Cloud platforms (ideally VMWare and/or OpenStack). You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust security processes, policies, and compliance procedures within our customer’s private cloud environments.

Your in-depth knowledge of private cloud security will enable you to design and maintain a secure infrastructure that protects sensitive data and mitigates potential risks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of private cloud systems.

This role will be permanently on-site with a customer in Riyadh (KSA).

Arabic language skills will be highly advantageous.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and develop comprehensive security architectures and solutions for private cloud platforms, focusing on VMWare and OpenStack.
• Assess and understand the security requirements of private cloud environments and develop appropriate security processes, policies, and compliance procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to implement security controls, monitoring mechanisms, and access management strategies to safeguard private cloud systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks and weaknesses.
• Define and enforce security standards, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, emerging threats, and industry standards and integrate relevant security measures accordingly.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including infrastructure teams, developers, and operations personnel, on security-related matters.
• Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to local regulations.
• Act as a subject matter expert on cloud security, conducting training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of security consciousness.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Security Architect, specifically focusing on private cloud platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security concepts, practices, and technologies, including virtualization, network security, access controls, and data protection.
• Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization mechanisms in the context of private cloud environments.
• Experience in building and implementing security processes, policies, and compliance procedures within private cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in conducting security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing in private cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate security-related concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• At least one certification in VMware or OpenStack.
• Other relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, or other cloud security certifications are highly desirable.
