About the Role
The Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focused primarily on Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities within a mission-critical data center environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and responding to physical security events and operational escalations across data center facilities. This role requires functioning in a fast-paced, 24/7 shift-based environment supporting critical infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain physical security systems including CCTV, access control systems, alarms, badge readers, and SOC monitoring platforms
- Perform real-time monitoring of security events, alarms, access violations, and operational alerts
- Respond to security incidents, operational escalations, and safety-related concerns in accordance with established procedures
- Coordinate closely with Security Operations Centre (SOC), Facilities teams, Data Centre Operations, vendors, and regional security stakeholders
- Support incident investigations, escalation handling, and operational reporting activities
- Conduct routine patrols and inspections across data halls, office spaces, storage rooms, and restricted areas
- Escort contractors and vendors within secured environments while ensuring compliance with operational and security protocols
- Support installation, maintenance, and testing activities related to security systems and devices
- Maintain accurate incident reports, operational logs, shift handovers, and daily documentation
- Support audit activities, media destruction exercises, compliance initiatives, and operational readiness programs
- Ensure strict adherence to site security policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards
Requirements
- Prior experience within Security Operations Centre (SOC), physical security operations, data centre environments, critical infrastructure, or facilities security
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control platforms, alarm monitoring systems, and physical security operations
- Experience working within a 24/7 shift-based operational environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow strict operational and security procedures
- Good communication, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively during incidents and escalations
- Comfortable working within mission-critical and highly secured environments
- Proficiency in standard reporting, monitoring, and collaboration tools
