What You'll Do:
- Define, implement, and document new security features
- Lead security-oriented initiatives within product engineering teams
- Analyze, fix, and test vulnerabilities in Canonical and open source software
- Audit and analyze source code for security vulnerabilities
- Integrate new security tools into infrastructure and processes
- Develop and maintain new software capabilities
- Provide guidance and support to other engineering teams
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic background, preferably an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field
- Familiarity with C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, or PHP
- Experience in security within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel bi-annually for company events
Optional Skills:
- Experience with low-level Linux cryptography APIs
- Familiarity with security certifications like FIPS and CC
- Knowledge of Open Vulnerability Assessment Language (OVAL)
