As a security-oriented engineer, you will help define, implement, and document new security features, analyze and fix vulnerabilities, contribute to Ubuntu and upstream projects, audit source code, integrate tools into security infrastructure, and work toward achieving various security certifications.
Responsibilities may include:
- Leading security initiatives within product engineering teams
- Analyzing and fixing vulnerabilities in Canonical and open source software
- Auditing source code for vulnerabilities
- Contributing to community-driven projects
- Designing and developing automation for Ubuntu hardening
- Monitoring the security industry for new developments
What We Are Looking For:
- An outstanding academic track record in Computer Science or a related STEM field
- Strong understanding of security vulnerabilities and modern engineering techniques
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, or PHP)
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events
Optional Skills:
- Experience with Linux Kernel
- Security certification knowledge (FIPS, CC)
- Familiarity with low-level Linux cryptography APIs
- Performance engineering experience
