We are in search of remarkable security-focused software engineers to join our product teams. The primary focus is to enhance security practices within the team by engaging in threat modeling, architecture reviews, static analysis, and more. Responsibilities include feature development, vulnerability response, proactive security measures, and participation in the open source community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, implement, and document new security features.
- Lead security-focused initiatives within product teams.
- Analyze and fix vulnerabilities in open source software.
- Contribute to Ubuntu and upstream open source projects.
- Audit source code for security vulnerabilities.
- Integrate new tools into our security infrastructure.
- Achieve and maintain various security certifications.
- Work with partners to develop security benchmarks.
- Stay updated with trends in the security industry and develop new software capabilities.
Work Conditions:
- Remote work environment.
- Mandatory international travel at least twice a year, typically for one week.
- Requires self-discipline and motivation to work effectively within a globally distributed team.
Language Requirements:
- Professional written and spoken English.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional academic record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering techniques and open source development.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages including C, C++, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, PHP, or JavaScript/Typescript.
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
Desirable Skills:
- Communication skills and experience within the Linux community.
- Knowledge of security certifications and FIPS/Common Criteria.
- Familiarity with cryptographic modules and Linux security APIs.
