The Senior Accountant performs professional accounting work involving the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. This role includes responsibilities such as ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, and bank account reconciliation. The Senior Accountant provides daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate, and comply with generally accepted accounting principles and policies.

Responsibilities
- Perform general or cost accounting activities requiring insight and depth of understanding.
- Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
- Ensure proper handling of financial transactions and approvals within designated limits.
- Assist in the preparation of Management Information Systems (MIS) reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Ensure the accuracy of data contained on all Financial Reports, ensuring that information is clear and concise.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Ensure that records and analysis reflect the true and accurate measure of the business as presented in graphs, available on a real-time basis.
- Establish tables of accounts and record all entries to proper accounts, ensuring all entries are assigned to correct account numbers.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems utilizing current computer technology for real-time financial reporting.
- Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash; may make correcting journal entries in assigned areas.
- Appraise, evaluate, and conduct inventory of real property and equipment, recording information such as property description, value, and location.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent knowledge of financial processes.
- Knowledgeable in the latest accounting tools/software.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices.
- Sound understanding of the month-end process and the financial markets.
- Proficiency in analysis and reporting of financial data.
- In-depth and demonstrable experience in financial management and accounting.
- ERP knowledge, preferably with SAP functional skills, is a requirement for success in this role.
Job Experience
- Minimum of 5 years working experience, with at least 3 years relevant working experience.
- 2 years of experience in the GCC region is a plus.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounts and Finance.
- Professional Qualification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
