We are looking for a highly talented Senior Android Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and create a direct impact. An ideal candidate will have a track record as a significant individual contributor as well as a strong team player.
You will be working on:
- Keeping abreast of the latest software development methodologies to provide best-in-class software solutions.
- Analyzing product requirements to understand engineering needs, evaluate feasibility, estimate efforts, and collaborate with the Product Team.
- Building development components and managing the programming of different solution components to transform requirements into working software.
- Documenting all coding steps to ensure comprehensibility and facilitate future modifications and maintenance.
- Writing unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests.
- Investigating and resolving issues and bugs through patches and other means.
- Collaborating with colleagues for code reviews and delivering code review reports.
- Performing functional and module testing to ensure the functionality of delivered solutions.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on product development and recommending improvements where necessary.
- Assisting in user trials and acceptance testing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience with a strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms (Kotlin preferred, Java background accepted).
- Technology-agnostic mindset with deep expertise in native Android development.
- Hands-on experience delivering high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures.
- In-depth understanding of the Android lifecycle (Activities, Fragments) and practical experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
- Proven track record of driving significant impact on complex systems; open-source contributions and technical publications are a plus.
- Strong project prioritization, multi-tasking abilities, and mastery of version control tools (Git).
- Familiarity with Modern Android Development (MAD) practices and toolkits, including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and Dagger2 setups.
- Passion for elegant design and architectural modularization; experience with native iOS or Flutter is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of modular app architecture principles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to design and implement maintainable, scalable new modules.
- Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and machine learning integration within mobile applications.
- Cross-platform versatility with experience in both Android and iOS ecosystems.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, and the Checkout.com SDK.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
