We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will design, create, and implement various Machine Learning and Computer Vision models for Smart Cities and IoT platforms. Collaborating closely with the Data Science R&D team, you will ensure proper implementation of AI use cases, focusing on user requirements and translating these into machine learning models for developers and engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, implement, and optimize algorithms and software solutions to solve complex computer vision problems.
- Write elegant and maintainable code.
- Ensure solutions are modular and testable, and produce unit and regression tests to validate performance.
- Collaborate with software engineering and product development teams on technology selections and solutions.
- Debug, optimize, and refine projects to achieve pixel-perfect outcomes.
Requirements:
- PhD/Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related Engineering disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
- At least one year of academic research experience in relevant fields.
- Published articles in IEEE Transactions or top-level AI/ML/CV journals, and participation in prominent conferences is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with feature extraction, tracking, object recognition, classification, image segmentation, and scene understanding.
- Experience with multi-sensor and multi-camera systems.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional R&D experience in Computer Vision, Digital Image Processing, and/or Machine Learning.
- Proficient in TensorFlow and Pytorch for model training and evaluation.
- Experience in training large-scale systems on extensive datasets.
- Fluent in C/C++ and Python with over 4 years of experience.
- Proven track record of shipping working code and solutions.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and share knowledge effectively.
- Good communication skills in English.
