Senior Back-End Software Engineer

The company is a global leader in maritime technology and operations, supporting nearly one-third of the world's seaborne commodity trade. We are seeking a Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our high-impact team and contribute to our mission of digital transformation across the maritime industry.

As a Senior Back-End Software Engineer, you will own the architecture, design, development, and testing of scalable Compliance and RegTech solutions. You will build and maintain secure, high-performance applications using Django REST Framework/Python to streamline counterparty onboarding, risk assessment, and regulatory screening.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Build and own APIs to power onboarding, screening, and entity intelligence.
2. Expand product functionality by introducing new data-driven capabilities.
3. Integrate ElasticSearch for advanced query performance and analytics.
4. Work closely with product managers and compliance specialists.
5. Implement a shift-left testing approach in the development lifecycle.
6. Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of applications.
7. Stay updated with emerging technologies in full-stack development and compliance automation.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Training: Prior training in Django REST Framework, Angular, or DevOps. Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud are beneficial.
• Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience primarily with Python/Django REST Framework.
  • Proven experience in scalable secure applications, preferably in RegTech or Compliance.
  • Experience with agile and remote-first environments.
• Core Skills: Strong experience with Python, Django, database design, API security, and performance optimization.
