Presight is seeking an innovative, creative, and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to build the structure of advanced software applications by writing flawless business logic, server scripts, and APIs. Key Responsibilities:
- Functional data modeling from external sources and loading into the application database (ETL).
- Code optimization to enhance performance, stability, and resilience of services.
- Investigating data sources with complex structures, including binary formats.
- Designing and implementing efficient transformation logic to convert raw data into a usable format.
- Deploying solutions to production and verifying their correctness and stability in a real-world environment.
- Resolution of production incidents and post-mortem analysis.
- Working with ML Engineers to build scalable and fail-proof services.
- Complying with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management, and Governance policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience designing, building, and supporting data-intensive network services for 5+ years.
- Experience developing applications for NoSQL and working with weak schema definitions, partitioning, partially available systems, and unreliable networks.
- Experience integrating with 3rd party systems using various protocols (queues, SQL, file-based, gRPC, RESTful).
- Ability to support software in production, including logs and metrics analysis, collaborating with the SRE team.
- Familiarity with frontend team collaboration on API and data formats design.
- Ideally, strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with proficiency in Python, and exposure to other languages like Java, Golang, or C++.
- Good understanding of Elasticsearch (queries, indices structure, mappings).
- Deep understanding and practical skills with Kubernetes and containerized software.
- Experience with message queues, preferably RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, etc.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases.
- Strong analytical mindset with curiosity and persistence in problem-solving.
- Exposure to ML concepts and understanding key aspects of ML-powered services (GPUs, pre/post processing, tensors, deep learning frameworks like PyTorch).
