The Opportunity:
Presight is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join its dynamic team, focusing on building an end-to-end AI-powered data processing and analytics platform for enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Build foundational components for the enterprise AI platform, including:
- Lakehouse solutions based on industry-leading open-source technologies like Clickhouse, Trino, and Spark.
- A distributed data processing and analytics pipeline engine (triggers, workers, DAGs).
- Data Management and Governance with sophisticated access control policies.
- Backend support for analytical tools (search, notebooks, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality AI/ML powered solutions.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and organizational policies regarding risk management, privacy, and security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and algorithms.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java, focusing on building APIs and distributed systems.
- Proven experience in designing and building large-scale, distributed fault-tolerant services.
- Experience in developing advanced analytical systems (search and recommendations).
- Strong knowledge of programming principles (e.g., SOLID).
- Understanding of data analytics fundamentals and basic SQL.
- Basic knowledge of Python and its ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data engineering using Databricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
- Familiarity with Clickhouse for OLAP/DWH workloads.
- Comfort with front-end technologies (Typescript/React).
- Interest in working with AI models and Python notebooks.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology.
