Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in architectural decision-making for a platform used by millions of people.
- Actively assist in migrating our monolithic application to Microservices.
- Play a vital role in designing, improving, and securing the overall backend architecture to support massive growth in users and products.
- Work with Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Coach and mentor other team members as a senior member of the team and Backend Chapter.
- Embrace Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, algorithms, and automated testing (unit, integration, and functional).
- Understand the development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams.
- Contribute to test coverage, refactoring, and documentation efforts.
- Regularly demonstrate code review, debugging, and investigation skills.
Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of experience in programming languages such as GoLang, RoR, Java, or Python.
- Strong experience with common monitoring, alerting, and logging tools (Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, ELK stack, and distributed tracing).
- Experience in building complex, high-quality applications and a solid understanding of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
- Proficiency in selecting best practice Design Patterns and Design Principles in Software Architectures and algorithms.
- Good knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL and NoSQL), including awareness of normal forms, ACID, isolation levels, and index anatomy.
- A flexible and open-minded personality, comfortable working in a multicultural environment and fluent in English.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, Terraform, and caching.
- Experience using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach during development.
