What You'll Be Doing
- Utilizing a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge.
- Interpreting and ensuring conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Understanding and utilizing advanced software to complete assignments efficiently.
- Collaborating closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
- Meeting layout requirements and developing alternate design layouts of systems as required.
- Ensuring compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
- Reviewing supplier data and manufacturer drawings as necessary.
- Checking orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
- Performing checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Assisting in training lower level Designers in various procedures.
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Wet utilities experience is required.
- Proficiency in a range of BIM Authoring, Scripting, Design Review, Coordination, Simulations, and Collaboration Platforms:
- Essentials: Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, & AutoCAD.
- Preferable: ProjectWise, Synchro, Bluebeam Studio, Autodesk Inventor Professional, Sketchup, 3D Max, Revit Structure, Dynamo.
- Strong PC and CAD skills, with proficiency in utilizing computer software to complete design assignments effectively.
