The company is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Business Development Manager to join our team! In this role, you will provide business development leadership and direction for one geographic location or a specific market sector over a broader geographic area. You will understand business negotiations and recognize and act upon opportunities to promote the company's expertise and successful past performance. May travel extensively to cultivate new and ongoing business development endeavors. Typical responsibilities include managing important client accounts and large, complex proposal/project activities.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Establish and maintain client contacts and develop a sales strategy. Strengthen current business ties; coordinate meetings between clients/potential clients and technical or other key individuals.
  • Keep abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate.
  • Conduct surveys to determine promising areas of development. Establish and maintain numerous contacts within and outside the industry.
  • Follow up in a timely manner on all possible leads.
  • Develop proposals for services in response to invitations to bid, and provide guidance to the proposal team from inception to completion.
  • Develop the pricing structure, as well as other contract terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate contracts, including secrecy agreements and joint venture agreements.
  • Act as a sponsor for foreign agent representative(s); negotiate and maintain the agent agreement.
  • Act as a sponsor during project execution.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent)
  • 10-15+ years diversified experience, primarily within the business development (5-10 years) realm of a large, multinational company
  • Seasoned capture management professional
  • Commercial bid management
  • Client relationship and interface management
  • A thorough understanding of proposal pricing, contract terminology, negotiations with potential clients, and the company's policies and business objectives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
  • An exceptional ability to represent the company favorably, to develop new clients, and to negotiate with key members of other firms
