In this role, you will influence internal and external stakeholders and leadership to gain buy-in for your strategic direction. You will build a buying and sourcing strategy for a new category while ensuring flawless execution and continuously analyzing key metrics to drive improvements for your business.

The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for building relationships with vendors, adding selection, managing category profitability, optimizing pricing, and developing their team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set, including leadership development, analytical ability, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, deep curiosity about processes, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Category leaders in driving new strategic initiatives and business opportunities.
  • Negotiate and build strategic partnerships, aligning and closing end-to-end vendor relationships and terms of trade, operating model contracts from long shelf-life Fresh & Frozen vendors.
  • Build the annual seasonal portfolio to drive continuous traffic and engagement.
  • Engage with global partner teams to bring best practices to the AE UFG channels.
  • Identify automation opportunities to offer scalable solutions and improve key input metrics.
  • Own the P&L post-launch to hit top and bottom-line targets and drive projects to improve profitability.
  • Define selection assortment and continuously refine the mix to reduce shrinkage and improve customer experience.
  • Source deals during Tier 1 & Tier 2 events to ensure value for Prime Customers.
  • Ensure content quality is top-notch to improve conversion rates.
  • Negotiate marketing funds from vendors for category visibility.
  • Prepare, pitch, and close Annual Joint Business Plans with vendors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of account management, project/program management, or buying experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams.
