Key Activities, Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Lead cost control activities across all assigned projects and department portfolios.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, commitments, and expenditures.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly department cost reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
  • Monitor project cost performance and identify cost variances, trends, and potential risks.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, business plans, and periodic forecast updates.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Controls, Finance, Contracts, and Engineering teams to ensure cost data accuracy and consistency.
  • Review project funding requirements and monitor budget utilization.
  • Develop cost performance indicators and reporting metrics for management decision-making.
  • Maintain project cost breakdown structures, cost coding, and reporting standards across projects.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM), cash flow forecasting, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) development.
  • Provide cost analysis and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and budget performance.
  • Support executive-level reporting, governance meetings, and portfolio reviews.
  • Ensure alignment between project schedules, progress measurements, and cost reporting.
  • Maintain cost control procedures, templates, and reporting tools for all departmental projects.
  • Support audits, management reviews, and corporate reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Cost Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of cost control, project controls, budgeting, and forecasting experience on large capital projects, infrastructure, EPC, or major construction programs.
