What You Will Do As a Customer Engineer
The Customer Engineer (CE) is central to our technical go-to-market strategy, acting as a trusted advisor and architect throughout the customer journey. You will guide enterprise clients from pre-sales technical validation, through onboarding and implementation, to ongoing lifecycle expansion. In this role, you will:

  • Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, understand business requirements, and map customer infrastructure to the company solutions. Develop success criteria and plans for Proofs of Concept (PoCs). Create tailored presentations and architectural diagrams to demonstrate how the company addresses specific challenges while proactively resolving technical objections.
  • Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Oversee the onboarding and implementation phases without executing the implementation. Design customized migration and onboarding plans for customers and serve as the lead consultant during their journeys. Work with Account Executives on discovery, demos, and expansion strategies while monitoring customer health to ensure rapid value realization.
  • Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota connected to new business and account growth. Focus on platform adoption, retention of revenue, and scouting expansion opportunities using product usage data. Conduct technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to showcase platform benefits to executives.
  • Trusted Advisory: Maintain a deep, continuous relationship with key stakeholders after onboarding, providing guidance on architecture, security, and deployment. Identify and mitigate potential risks early in the deployment process.
  • AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Use AI tools and automation to streamline routine tasks, allowing focus on strategic customer advisory.
  • Education & Enablement: Collaborate with the Enablement Team to create and govern technical resources. Document and educate both internal teams and customers on best practices and technical guides to elevate the overall technical competency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, or Technical Account Management.
  • Ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures clearly.
  • Strong consultative skills to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven commercial mindset with experience in quota-carrying environments and SaaS metrics.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to connect technical implementation with business strategy.
  • Depth in at least four of the following technical areas:
    • Internet fundamentals (e.g., OSI Model, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS).
    • Security expertise (e.g., WAF, Zero Trust, SASE).
    • Performance knowledge (e.g., latency, caching, HTTP/2).
    • AI proficiency and workflow automation experience.
    • Coding/scripting proficiency (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash).
    • Familiarity with developer platforms and cloud-native environments.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications (The "Good-to-Haves")

  • Experience in creating technical enablement resources that enhance customer adoption.
  • Knowledge of LLM orchestration and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA).
  • Background in hyperscaler or digital native environments, which indicate stronger fluency in cloud solutions.

Education
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Travel
This role may require travel up to 20–50% for customer meetings, conferences, and team collaboration.
