Senior Data Center Engineer/Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are looking for experienced Senior Data Center Engineers/Technicians to join our Infrastructure Operations team as technical leads within Data Center Operations (DCO). As a Senior Data Center Engineer/Technician, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and escalation point for complex infrastructure issues including hardware, fiber, networking, and related systems. You will mentor junior technicians, drive process improvements, and take ownership of operational excellence across your site or shift. You will independently resolve the most complex infrastructure issues and lead cross-functional troubleshooting efforts to minimize customer impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion and enforce the highest safety standards; drive a world-class safety culture across the team.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, network, and infrastructure problems with minimal supervision.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures and document findings to prevent recurrence.
• Communicate clearly and effectively via tickets, SIMs, task tracking entries, write-ups, and post-incident reviews.
• Deliver work that directly impacts site-level and cluster-level metrics including ticket resolution, decom throughput, SLA adherence, and safety compliance.
• Serve as a technical mentor and on-the-job trainer for junior technicians and new hires.

Requirements

• Able to support shift-based schedules including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations as required by operational needs.
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment up to 18 kg may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
• Ability to work at heights as required by operational tasks.
