The Opportunity:
Presight is seeking a qualified Senior Data Engineer to evaluate and work with data concepts, use cases, and complex new data sources to provide insights to customers and assist in integrating these data sources into the Presight AI platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solve challenging problems using Python coding skills.
- Design, build, and launch new data extraction, transformation, and loading processes in production.
- Perform web crawling, data cleaning, annotation, ingestion, and processing.
- Read and collate complex data sets.
- Create and maintain data pipelines.
- Focus on process improvement to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
- Use technologies like Python, SQL, and Elastic Search to build infrastructure for optimal data handling.
- Provide insights into key business performance metrics through analytical tools.
- Support business data needs on an ad-hoc basis.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, and Governance policies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
- 6+ years of programming experience with strong coding skills in Python, Shell, and Java.
- Excellent communication skills and corporate capacity.
- Experience with web crawling and data cleaning.
- Knowledge of solution architecture, data ingestion, query optimization, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), ELT, AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda), Elastic Search, and Redshift.
- Proficient in working with data platforms (data lake, data warehouse), real-time processing architecture, ETL/ELT job scheduling, and monitoring.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and programming languages (preferably Java, Python).
- Familiarity with structured and unstructured data, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of best practices for optimizing distributed data processing systems.
- Experience in dimensional modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques in areas like statistical modeling and information retrieval.
