The Senior Data Modeler will work alongside data scientists and database administrators to design critical data models that assist in informed decision-making and enhance customer experience processes. A key aspect of this role includes understanding how the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) utilizes its core data while maintaining data integrity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support informed decision-making by defining conceptual, logical, and physical data models for departments in the Central Bank and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement the core data model in the new Enterprise Data Management platform, improving data quality, integrity, access, and security.
- Develop modeling standards and oversee the creation of conceptual models for the bank’s technology platforms, including data lakes and analytics.
- Maintain current knowledge of banking and financial laws and regulations, as well as international organizational practices.
- Ensure training and understanding of the data platforms and processes for examiners and other BSD staff.
- Act as an ambassador for the brand in all internal and external customer interactions.
Self-Management Responsibilities:
- Define performance goals annually in collaboration with the reporting manager and ensure their achievement.
- Identify training and development needs for oneself and the team, ensuring the necessary training is arranged and attended.
- Strive to reach the highest proficiency levels in required competencies and keep updated with professional developments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in Data Architecture and Data Modeling, with at least 5 years in Financial Services.
- Experience with one or more database technologies, including RDBMS, Snowflake, Star schemas, or HDFS.
- Strong understanding of business needs, requirements gathering, and modeling.
- Knowledge of various Financial and Banking systems and applications.
- Ability to influence effectively at all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A data certification such as CMDP or CIMP is a plus.
