About the Job
The Data Product Owner role at Emirates NBD is crucial for advancing the operationalization of the Data Strategy and progressing the Wealth Banking (WB) data product roadmap. The incumbent will prioritize WB requirements catering to Business, Operations, and Support teams across all Data Domains/Sub-domains related to Corporate, Financial Institutions (FI), and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) banking customers. This position ensures data consumer adoption of the governed and certified data products landscape.
The role requires both techno-functional expertise and hands-on experience for data management and product implementation, working collaboratively with the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Data Strategy & Governance and IT teams.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Data Management

    • Strong understanding of Corporate products including Loans, Liabilities, Trade, Cash, Collaterals, and Treasury products.
    • Engage with business, operations, and support teams in WB and SME for requirement gathering and data validation.
    • Lead execution strategy for data squad activities and manage the backlog of data products.
    • Collaborate with architecture, security, risk, and platform teams on frameworks and guidelines.
  2. Forming & Operationalizing Data Domain Working Groups

    • Identify and engage relevant data consumers for assigned domains.
    • Conduct working group sessions to capture data needs and maintain a unified data products backlog.
  3. Data Product Level Functional Specifications

    • Convert high-level data requirements into detailed functional specifications including data mapping, business rules, data quality rules, and observability metrics.
    • Assess data gaps and direct responsibilities for their resolution.
  4. Data Products Implementation & Ensuring Data Consumer Adoption

    • Partner with CoE-Data Strategy & Governance and IT teams for data products implementation.
    • Drive data consumer adoption by ensuring business value and reducing dependency on ungoverned data sources.
  5. Data Privacy, Protection & Terms of Use

    • Manage data according to privacy/protection regulations and enforce access rules.
  6. Communication

    • Actively communicate enhancements/changes to data product functionality to the Data Consumer Community.
    • Lead and conduct learning series events to enhance data literacy.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Data & Information Management and Data Governance.
  • At least 2 years of managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong banking domain knowledge with expertise in robust data management solutions for financial organizations.
  • Familiarity with federated and centralized data strategy and governance models.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data analysts/contractors to advance the data products roadmap.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing necessary training and up-skilling.
  • Prepare and present status updates, manage stakeholder communications, and facilitate decision-making sessions for various initiatives.
