As a Senior Data Science Manager (Marketplace & ML), you will lead a team of talented data scientists and ML engineers to drive AI innovation across the company’s Marketplace, focusing on the optimization of pricing, ETAs, Matching, Dispatching, Demand Shaping, and Supply Rebalancing. This high-stakes, high-visibility role will require you to bridge strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, define the roadmap for marketplace intelligence, mentor regional data science talent, and deliver measurable impacts through machine learning systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Technical Leadership:
- Define and own the machine learning and algorithms roadmap for Marketplace optimization.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leads on high-impact ML initiatives.
- Promote best practices in experimentation and data-driven decision-making.

- Lead and mentor a team of 10+ data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Provide guidance on advanced ML techniques and support career growth.

Product Impact & Delivery:
- Drive the development and deployment of ML models for marketplace efficiency.
- Ensure robust experimentation pipelines and model performance tracking.
- Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Innovation & Thought Leadership:
- Pilot emerging AI techniques in production environments.
- Contribute to the company’s AI community through talks and partnerships with academia.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in Data Science or Applied Machine Learning, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven track record in building and scaling ML systems in production, preferably in marketplace or logistics.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hive, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with modern ML Ops and experimentation workflows.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion for mentoring and team-building.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time role.
- Work 4 days a week in the office and 1 day from home, with an option to work remotely from any country for 30 days a year.
