The Senior Data Scientist scopes, designs, and implements machine learning models to support use case execution aimed at achieving overall objectives and targets. This highly collaborative role works with product owners, business translators, data warehousing, and data engineering teams to create big data applications utilizing both structured and unstructured data. Responsibilities include driving end-to-end delivery of machine learning models and regularly testing and maintaining these models to enhance efficiency in response to changing business needs, supporting translators in communicating the design, functionality, and output of analytical solutions, and mentoring junior colleagues and guiding them in their professional growth.
Key responsibilities encompass delivering a strong roadmap of advanced analytics projects in collaboration with business units, designing and implementing machine learning models to further business initiatives, maintaining thorough documentation of artefacts and reusable code, achieving personal technical development and learning goals, and conducting internal and external knowledge sharing sessions.
Candidates should possess a university degree, with an advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) in Computer Applications, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline with high analytical rigor being desirable. Moreover, 6-8 years of experience in a data science role is essential, accompanied by proven experience in defining analytics roadmaps and leading analytics engagements. Proficiency in machine learning, statistics, optimization, or related fields is required, along with programming experience in R or Python and experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) being essential.
The ideal candidate should display strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, experience in agile environments with multiple business stakeholders, a practical and action-oriented mindset, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity within the team, and must be a team player and quick learner.
