Senior Data Scientist

The company, a leader in luxury retail in the Middle East, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance predictive and intelligent decision-making across its business functions. As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and improving machine learning models to ensure accuracy, fairness, and robustness in various business applications.

Key Accountabilities:

• Design and develop machine learning models tailored to business needs.
• Own model training, tuning, and evaluation; optimize performance metrics such as precision and recall.
• Engineer and select relevant features based on statistical and domain knowledge.
• Implement and maintain experiment tracking frameworks for reproducibility.
• Establish model performance metrics (accuracy, F1 score, AUC, etc.).
• Develop strategies for model drift detection and define retraining protocols in collaboration with MLOps teams.
• Ensure model fairness and mitigate bias among different demographics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into production.
• Document models and experiments to support governance and auditability.
• Apply generative AI techniques for various use cases, including NLP.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• 5–7 years of experience in applied data science or machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM).
• Solid understanding of the model development lifecycle (training, validation, deployment).
• Proven experience in feature engineering and model performance metrics.
• Familiarity with drift detection methods and comfort working with diverse data formats.
• Collaborative mindset, able to work with engineering and product teams.
• Hands-on experience with Azure ML and GCP Vertex AI.
