The Personalization team, part of the Data Science organization, is responsible for the AI systems that determine what users see across various services such as Food, Quik, and Shops. The mission is to create a hyper-personalization layer that learns from user behavior and applies insights globally across the company's offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Drive real-time personalization across multiple verticals, designing systems that recognize user intent and preferences.
- Lead the exploration of graph-based retrieval methods for enhanced recommendations.
- Develop transformer-based ranking models to advance the company's recommendation systems.
- Implement online learning systems that adapt to user behavior in real-time.
- Identify opportunities for shared personalization infrastructure across different services.
- Help shape generative AI strategies to improve user engagement.
- Analyze user behavior to drive product enhancements and inform decision-making.
- Design and conduct A/B tests to evaluate performance and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Challenge existing norms by integrating new data processing technologies and learning paradigms.
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience in data mining, machine learning, and big data paradigms.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
- Expertise in deep learning techniques and familiarity with graph-based systems.
- 2-4 years of industry experience in personalization, recommendation, or search.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and Hive.
- Experience with business intelligence tools and database technologies.
