Position

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will architect and scale intelligent systems for dark store operations. Your work will involve optimizing the lifecycle of millions of items, ensuring efficient stock levels while minimizing wastage. You will work on:

  • Demand Forecasting: Build and deploy high-precision forecasting models for hyper-local demand at the SKU-store level.
  • Inventory & Availability: Develop replenishment algorithms that balance In-Stock Availability with expiry risks, especially for high-turnover perishables.
  • Wastage Mitigation: Utilize ML to identify items at risk of expiring and trigger automated interventions.
  • Dynamic Pricing & Discounts: Design and A/B test pricing strategies to move inventory efficiently.
  • Space Management: Optimize dark store layout to enhance storage density and minimize picker travel time.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Collaborate with Product Managers and Supply Chain Operations to implement your models in production-level code.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time, 4 days a week in the office & 1 day from home; remote work from any country for 30 days a year; unlimited vacation days.

What You'll Need:

  • Academic Background & Experience: 8+ years in Data Science, preferably in E-commerce, Q-commerce, or Supply Chain. Strong background in Operations Research or Statistics. Proficiency in Python, Spark, and ML frameworks, with experience in real-time inference systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Python and SQL, familiar with optimization libraries (Gurobi, CPLEX) and ML frameworks (XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch).
  • Problem Solving: Experience with Stochastic Optimization or Reinforcement Learning is highly preferred.
  • Business Intuition: Ability to recognize the financial implications of operational improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent at translating complex modeling into business impact.
