Your responsibilities will include developing and strengthening GCC Data Science risk capabilities and creating new risk solutions for clients. You'll also develop analytics and model-based solutions for the company's issuer, acquirer, merchant, fintech clients, addressing challenges such as market opportunity sizing, prospect targeting, cross-sell/upsell, cross-channel marketing implementation, risk management, fraud prevention, and portfolio optimization programs.
Additionally, you'll find opportunities to automate project pipelines using the latest Data Science techniques, guide the analytical work of junior team members, and identify innovation opportunities that will help clients implement fact-based solutions. Collaboration with regional and global Data Science teams will be essential to develop high-quality analytic products and solutions that drive the company's growth in the region.
You will keep the company at the forefront of technological advancement in Data Science by introducing cutting-edge tools and techniques for generating business insights and manage your workload alongside any direct reports, providing prioritization guidance to improve process efficiency. Talent management within the team and championing internal requirements around Model Risk Management, the company's Analytics Rules, and Global Privacy standards for client delivery will also be part of your role.
This is a hybrid position, and the expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications for this role include a minimum of 8+ years of expertise in applying Machine Learning solutions to business problems, with required model development and production experience. You should hold a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Engineering, and have experience in Card & Payments markets with responsibilities in payments, retail banking, or retail merchant industries. You should possess expert knowledge of data, business intelligence, and AI-driven tools; strong people and project management skills; and the ability to travel within the GCC on short notice.
In terms of technical expertise, you should have experience in distributed computing environments/big data platforms (Hadoop, Elasticsearch) and common database systems (SQL, Hive). Strong programming abilities in languages such as Python, Spark, R, Scala, Java, Matlab, C++, and SQL are essential. You should also be able to build data pipelines (e.g., ETL) using tools like NiFi and Sqoop, and be proficient in techniques such as Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, and Neural Networks.
