We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Admin Engineer to join a long-term project with a Government Entity in the UAE.
Location: Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time, Long-term
Notice Period: Maximum 30 days
Key Skills
Candidates should have strong hands-on expertise in one or more of the following:
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain database systems for high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
- Design and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity, data corruption, and system failures.
- Implement database security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and monitoring.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Develop scripts and automation for database administration and maintenance.
- Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data integrity processes.
- Participate in change management, testing, documentation, and production implementation.
- Coordinate with database vendors/service providers and provide technical guidance to junior DBAs.

- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
