We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Admin Engineer to join a long-term project with a Government Entity in the UAE.

Location: Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time, Long-term
Notice Period: Maximum 30 days

Key Skills

Candidates should have strong hands-on expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Oracle
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain database systems for high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Design and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity, data corruption, and system failures.
  • Implement database security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and monitoring.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Develop scripts and automation for database administration and maintenance.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data integrity processes.
  • Participate in change management, testing, documentation, and production implementation.
  • Coordinate with database vendors/service providers and provide technical guidance to junior DBAs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant database administration experience.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Candidates who can join within 30 days maximum are preferred.
