Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain enterprise databases including installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to performance, security, connectivity, and data integrity.
  • Design, implement, and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models.
  • Implement database security measures including access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools for database administration and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business requirements.
  • Manage capacity planning, storage optimization, and resource forecasting.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong experience with databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of database security, backup & recovery, disaster recovery, and compliance best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting/automation using SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant database administration experience.
