The successful candidate will hold deep, hands-on production expertise in ClickHouse and MongoDB. Responsibilities include owning database architecture and design, performance engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, backup and restore, security and compliance, capacity planning, upgrades and migrations, automation, observability, and providing 24x7 production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day administration, monitoring, and operational health of all production and non-production ClickHouse and MongoDB environments.
- Perform installations, configuration, patching, version upgrades, and decommissioning across cloud and on-premises estates.
- Manage user provisioning, roles, and access reviews according to least-privilege principles.
- Design and size ClickHouse clusters and MongoDB replica sets, including shard key selection and indexing strategy.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and establish performance baselines.
- Implement and maintain high-availability topologies and backup/recovery strategies.
- Ensure security and compliance through database hardening and support for audits.
Educational Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- MongoDB Certified DBA (Associate or Professional).
- ClickHouse professional certification or equivalent demonstrable vendor training.
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT service management certification.
Required Professional Experience:
- 8+ years of overall IT and database administration experience, primarily with NoSQL database technologies.
- 5+ years of hands-on production experience administering MongoDB, including replica sets and sharded clusters.
- 3+ years of hands-on production experience administering ClickHouse.
- Proven experience operating large-scale, high-availability database estates with demanding SLAs.
- Experience providing 24x7 production support.
