Senior Datacenter IT Support Technician

As a Senior Datacenter IT Support Technician (DCT) at Microsoft, you will provide IT support for secure access workstations (SAWs), laptops, servers, and conference room Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining an inventory of spare devices, ensuring that the latest updates and operating systems are installed, and supporting the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's online services such as Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. You will also participate in professional development opportunities and trainings.

Responsibilities:

• Build strong working relationships with data center and corporate teams.
• Ensure SAW devices are compliant with security standards.
• Manage SAW inventory, including ordering, receiving, and decommissioning devices.
• Assist users with common SAW repair issues and escalate when necessary.
• Provide Senior Data center Technician-level support, including power cycles, troubleshooting, and hardware installations.
• Support physical infrastructure deployment, including server setup and hardware troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with the Data center Inventory and Asset Management Team on inventory management and logistics.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Ability to pass specialized security screenings.

Preferred:

• Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications).
• Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts).
• Flexibility to work non-business hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license for standard vehicles.
