We are looking for an exceptional Senior DBA to help build and scale our global fintech infrastructure. If you have a passion for building highly scalable, distributed cloud systems—specifically architecting and managing MySQL clusters on AWS EC2—created with an “Everything As Code” mindset, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities:
- Architect & Manage: Design, deploy, and manage highly available and distributed MySQL clusters on AWS EC2 instances.
- Everything As Code: Drive automation in the DB domain, from infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to creating robustly scalable and monitored databases.
- Strategy & High Availability: Develop database strategy for performance tuning, disaster recovery, and ensuring high availability in a global production environment.
- Environment Ownership: Manage Development, Test, QA, and Production databases, implementing MySQL (and MongoDB) enhancements.
- Capacity Planning: Anticipate scaling requirements for global growth and optimal performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to resolve issues, optimize queries, and adhere to best practices.
- System Maintenance: Maintain configuration, version upgrades, deep Linux OS-level tuning, and patching.
- Reliability: Handle periodic on-call duties for continuous system reliability and uptime.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years as a DBA in high-scale, high-transaction environments.
- MySQL & Clustering: Proficiency with MySQL (version 8.x) and experience building highly available MySQL clusters on EC2 instances.
- AWS Expertise: Understanding of AWS infrastructure related to database hosting (EC2, EBS, VPC networking, Security Groups, and IAM).
- Linux Mastery: Strong knowledge of Linux, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Database Architecture: Experience with partitioning, replication topologies, security, and transactions.
- Optimization: Knowledge of SQL programming, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Automation/IaC: 3+ years with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or CloudFormation).
- NoSQL: Experience or knowledge of MongoDB.
- Communication: Fluent in English.
