What You'll Be Doing:
- Coordinates execution of work assignments concerning design approach, schedules, standards, budgets, and procedures to meet client scope of work requirements and provides manpower estimates as required.
- Offers technical guidance to the project design team in completing complex and challenging designs and layouts for comprehensive systems and components.
- Ensures compliance with specifications, tolerances, safety factors, industry codes, and client requirements.
- Conducts specialized design computations and analysis within the assigned discipline.
- Performs interdisciplinary reviews and coordinates data to ensure compatibility in design.
- Directs a team of checking personnel to ensure the accuracy of drawings produced, participating in the checking of orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
- Applies commonly used company design standards and methods and contributes to the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
- Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure the quality of design.
- Reviews supplier data and drawings as necessary.
- May train lower-level Designers in various procedures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (or related field) with a strong background in managing the technical design process across multiple work packages.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholders (both internal and external) while leading multiple concurrent deliverables and deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solver, capable of preempting issues and devising innovative solutions.
- Experience managing large teams of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel.
- Expertise across multiple disciplines.
