The company is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Design Manager to join our team! In this role, you will lead and manage complex, multidisciplinary design programs and projects, providing strategic direction across the full design lifecycle. You will be responsible for design scope, quality, schedule, budget, technical integration, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring that design solutions meet client objectives, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and the company's expectations for technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, management, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary design activities across assigned projects and programs.
- Manage projects with total installed costs up to $100 million, ensuring delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Establish overall design vision, delivery strategy, technical objectives, quality expectations, and design management processes.
- Define design requirements across all disciplines and monitor compliance with project criteria.
- Oversee design activities from concept through to project completion, ensuring effective integration between design and downstream processes.
- Manage stakeholder and authority interfaces, supporting technical approvals throughout the design lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 15+ years of related professional experience, with significant experience in a design leadership capacity.
- Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary design projects and leading design teams.
- Strong understanding of design management principles, processes, technical assurance, and project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
- Master’s Degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP).
- Experience delivering major infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of current design technologies and digital engineering practices.
