We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Developer Experience Engineer to lead initiatives aimed at improving developer workflows, tools, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will enhance productivity and satisfaction within development teams by creating scalable solutions, integrating best practices, and promoting collaboration between engineering and DevOps teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain tools and frameworks to improve developer workflows.
- Automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain developer environments for seamless onboarding.
- Build and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Lead the design and implementation of developer portals using tools like Backstage and Port.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tools and processes.
- Establish monitoring and alerting systems for reliable development workflows.
- Track developer experience metrics and identify improvement areas.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address pain points and propose solutions.
- Advocate for best practices in code quality and deployment.
- Organize workshops and training sessions for new tools and practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the developer experience ecosystem.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation tools (Ansible).
- Familiarity with developer portals like Backstage and Port.
- Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps principles.
- Effective debugging and system issue resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven documentation abilities and experience in conducting training.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or developer tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architecture.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks for unit, integration, and performance testing.
